At the Illinois State Board of Educations last meeting, the following amendments were approved to submit to the State Education Code. There’s one more step in the process but hopefully everything will be finalized by the end of the year.  Great work advocating for this parents!! Hopefully we can get to work on an early screening and professional development bill sometime soon!

along with,

Why does the district (203) continue to classify dyslexia as an emotional disorder instead of providing educational support for students with dyslexia. Why does the district (203) continue to withhold educational support for dyslexic students

Dyslexia should be classified under Specific Learning Disability Linda. Unfortunatly I’ve heard this before about other school districts. Is there some way be might be able to help? Is your child getting any services in schoool?
